Aboriginal Celebrations at Island Health

Island Health’s Aboriginal Employment team and the First Nations Health Authority hosted a series of events last week to celebrate cultural diversity in the health workplace.

Activities at the Campbell River District Hospital June 28 featured singing, dancing, and displays and sales of Aboriginal crafts as well as a salmon lunch.

Wei Wai Kum councilor Marian Atkinson and other members of the Aboriginal Advisory Committee for the new hospitals in Comox and Campbell River were presented with small carved wooden paddles in appreciation for their work.
