Greenways Food Security Update

Did you know that the Greenways Land Trust is the host of the Strathcona Food Network? Greenways hosts a Network meeting in its office at 1195-C Fir Street (also via teleconference) the second Thursday of each month, 10 a.m. till noon, which brings together stakeholders of community food initiatives in Campbell River and throughout the Strathcona Regional District.

Greenways is also active on some other aspects of food security: It just hosted a Boat-to-Table workshop, is working with Island Food Hubs on a regional Food Atlas, and is planning a food security trip to Cortes in June. Contact them at volunteer@greenwaystrust.ca or 250-287-3785 to get involved in food security in the region.

These projects are undertaken with the financial support of the Community Food Action Initiative of Island Health; the Campbell River Community Foundation, and TD Friends of the Environment.
