Wei Wai Kum Job Posting – Human Resource Manager

Overall Purpose: The Human Resources Manager will ensure the efficient administration and management of the Human Resources function for Wei Wai Kum, to include recruitment, onboarding, compensation and benefits, performance management, training and development, and compliance. The Human Resources Manager will report to the Senior Managers and provide each department with the resources, guidance and support needed to achieve the business objectives, while also being accountable for ensuring a proactive Human Resources environment consistent with the overall business strategy.

Responsibilities include:

  •  Develop, implement and administer human resource plans in conjunction with Wei Wai Kum’s overarching strategic plan and operational plans for all internal operations and external band owned and operated businesses to ensure an optimal level of service is maintained.
  • Manages all recruitment processes as outlines in the Wei Wai Kum Human Resource Manual.
  • Collaborating with Senior staff to Identify and coordinate training and development for staff in all departments and band owned and operated businesses.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with all Health and Safety processes and procedures as required in administration building, businesses and community buildings.
  • Coordinates probationary and annual performance assessments and develops performance management strategies.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable Provincial and Federal employment legislation, standard and codes as well as Wei Wai Kum polices and procedures.
  • Works with Senior managers to update salary grids and ensure wages stay competitive and relevant to the roles and responsibilities and are fair based on education, experience and years of service.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to management and all employees in order to maximize the quality and professionalism of the staff, by listening and interpreting concerns and objectives, and seeking solutions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Human Resource Management is preferred
  • Combination of Human Resource Management education and 3 or more years experience in related field is acceptable
  • Strong working knowledge of BC employment standards and Canada labor code
  • Must have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a clear Criminal Record Check.

  • Ability to build professional working relationships at all levels
  • Comfortable working in a stand-alone position
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with HR Management programs
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Active listening and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in the use of computer programs for word processing, databases, spreadsheets and email.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • Hours of work: 35 hours per week
  • Hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00pm Monday thru Friday
  • May be requested to work occasional evening or weekend
  • Place of work: Wei Wai Kum Administration office
  • May be required to travel to other locations related to the job.

Salary Range: $70,000.00 – $92,000.00
