Interpretive Walk with Greenways Trust

June 24, 2018 / 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Tyee Spit

Our upcoming nature walk on Sunday will shine a well deserved spotlight on the Tyee Spit. This Campbell River gem attracts locals of all ages. It is one of those places where people are drawn to: Be it to walk or cycle the loop, breath the fresh ocean air, have a beach fire, go wild on the playground, launch their kayaks for a beautiful tour around the estuary or spend their lunch break watching the Discovery Passage, hoping for some wildlife putting on a free show.

On Sunday, June 24, Greenways’ Executive Director, Cynthia Bendickson, will take you on a 1-hour journey and guide you through some of the Spit’s amazing ecology & history. The Tyee Spit is an integral part of the Campbell River estuary and provides habitat for many different wildlife species, including the iconic Tyee salmon run for which our town is famous. Our amazing supporters from Daves’ Bakery will be sponsoring this event with some of their delicious muffins!
